CDL Passenger Drivers

SMV Recruiting is currently looking for CDL Bus Drivers to work with a well-established organization in Utica, NY. The drivers will transport passengers with disabilities to various program locations within the designated drop off and pick up times. Responsibilities :

Safely transport passengers to and from program locations, including ARC houses, state houses, and other facilities in the Greater Utica area

Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues to ensure buses remain in safe operating condition

Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, with boarding and exiting the bus, including securing wheelchairs and assisting with seatbelts as needed

Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

The ability to p erform light maintenance tasks during split shift times if desired by the driver

E ngag e positive ly with passengers and address concerns or escalating them to supervisory staff

Follow assigned routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures

Participate in random DOT drug testing and maintain compliance with all DOT regulations

Requirements :

Valid CDL Class A, B, or C with passenger endorsement

Minimum of 1 year of driving experience with a clean driving record

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus

High school diploma or GED required

Ability to pass a DOT physical, background checks, fingerprinting, drug test, TB test, and CPS Willingness to undergo a road test for passenger endorsement if not already certified
