Business Intelligence Developer

Provide business intelligence support for data operations, including the design, testing, implementation and documentation of data analytics projects. Gather business requirements, translate them into technical specifications and formulate strategies for report curation, working with multiple business divisions. Participate in data warehouse design, data lineage documentation, and cube creation for data consumption layer development, working with peers within the Data Operations team. Perform designing, programming, and UAT to deploy data models and analytics, working with end users. Work with departments to identify their data needs and work with team members in Data Operations to create business data analytics deliverables. Create dashboards, reports, and analytics using business intelligence tools including Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, SAS, and R.

Qualifications

Required :

Bachelors degree in Information system, information management, computer science or a related field. Five years of experience in job offered or as a business intelligence analyst or a related occupational title.

The following number of years of experience for each skill can be gained concurrently together, as well as concurrently with the number of years of required experience. Three years of demonstrated experience working in academic environment managing academic financial data and BI analytics. Three years of experience implementing data warehousing methodologies using relational database management system software (RDBMS) including MSSQL, Oracle DB, and Azure. Three years of experience working with relational database and data modeling techniques including multi-dimensional and tabular data cube designs. Three years of experience utilizing business intelligence tools including Tableau, Power BI, SAS, R and SRSS. Three years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of programing languages including SQL, MDX, DAX, SAS, R, and Python. Three years of demonstrated experience performing academic or financial data reporting.

The following skills does not require a set period of time as demonstration of proficiency. Demonstrated experience utilizing R and SAS to create statistical models. Experience serving as subject matter expert on data visualization and best practices in BI reporting while providing support to other BI developers. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in written and oral communications.
