The nurse practitioner performs outpatient office visits to include new patients, routine follow up and acute care. Orders and interprets lab and radiology results and formulate a medical plan of care according to protocols. Performs admission history and physicals. Performs discharge planning functions, family case conferences and dictates discharge summaries. Perform pre-procedural evaluation, and answer questions pertaining to GI procedures such as bowel preparation, anti- coagulation therapy and dietary recommendations. See and evaluate new patients and completes history and physical exams and consultations in collaboration with physician. Presents patient to physician and assists in formulating a treatment plan, ordering appropriate lab and radiographic studies. Evaluate post-procedural patients and routine follow up visits. See same day patients when required. Triage new and existing patients over the phone.
