Piedmont Healthcare is comprised of 23 hospitals spanning 1,755 physical locations. We care for 3.7 million patients and serve communities that comprise 80 percent of Georgia’s population. Piedmont is seeking a Chief of Anesthesia to oversee the anesthesia service line across all hospitals within the System.

Responsibilities include setting the strategic and operational direction of employed provider operations for Piedmont Healthcare. The Chief supports the systemwide development and implementation of opportunities for market expansion, acquisitions, and promotes efficient and high-quality performance throughout the service line.

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Vice President accountable for Anesthesia Service Line, with a dotted line to Physician Enterprise leadership, this physician executive serves as the senior clinical leader, accountable for the overall development, quality, and performance for the anesthesia practices throughout the System.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from a recognized school of medicine and fellowship trained in Anesthesiology.
• Minimum ten (10) years of progressive responsible work experience in a senior management position in a medical practice setting, healthcare administration or closely related field is required.
• Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Georgia Medical License to practice Anesthesiology.
• Post-graduate degree in healthcare or business administration preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of healthcare industry and experience running complex anesthesiology services in a multi-hospital system.
