The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Civil Engineer Intern (Transportation or Construction) to work this upcoming 2026 summer season. This position is for our Sioux Falls office location. You must live in the Sioux Falls area.

What You'll Do

The Engineering Intern is responsible for performing fundamental engineering assignments and works from designs of others to compile data, perform design computations, and prepare engineering plans. The Engineering Intern will work under close supervision; receiving specific and detailed instructions required to complete tasks and meet results expected. One specific item that will be completed is bridge inspections. Candidate must be able to travel to various counties around southeast South Dakota and aid in the investigation and inspection of bridges. Candidate will work closely with the Bridge Inspection Team Leader to perform inspection tasks. Candidate may also aid in construction observation duties of various projects throughout the summer.

What We Expect from You

• Minimum of 2 years completed towards a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Previous internship experience preferred
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred, additional software knowledge depending on specialization
• Must have permanent authorization to work in the US

Additional Opportunity Details :

Target Base Compensation for this role is $26.00 / hr
