DevOps Software Engineer III – Release Manager

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer for our Devops team.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Release Management Manage and coordinate the end-to-end release process, including scheduling, planning, and execution. Act as the primary point of contact for release-related incidents and ensure timely resolution. Monitor post-release performance and coordinate rollback procedures if needed.
• Collaboration Collaborate with development, QC, and IT teams to ensure seamless releases. Ensure effective communication between stakeholders, including developers, QC, and business teams
• CI/CD Pipelines and Automation Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support efficient release cycles. Implement automation for build, test, and deployment processes.
• Agile Practices Participate in sprint ceremonies such as daily standups (DSUs), grooming sessions, and retrospectives.
• Version Control Manage version control systems and enforce branching/merging strategies.
• Configuration Management Maintain and enforce configuration management practices for infrastructure and applications.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting Track release progress and generate reports to identify bottlenecks or areas of improvement. Identify opportunities to improve release processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Change Management Follow best practices for change management to minimize risk during deployments.
• Documentation Maintain comprehensive documentation for release processes, deployment procedures, and issue tracking.

Position Requirements

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, release management, or related roles.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git and familiarity with branching strategies.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., YAML, Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation)
• Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools like DataDog and ELK stack
• Experience with VMWare.
• Experience with CD tools like Octopus Deploy.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with containerization technologies.
• Certification(s) in DevOps practices.
• Understands observability best practices.
• Familiarity with observability tools like OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with hybrid Cloud environments (on prem/colocation).
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure.
