We are looking for : Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for our Orthopedic clinics located in Webster and Sugarland. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities :

• Rooming the patient
• Interview / update patient's chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
• Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
• Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization / Determination for medications.
• Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized / up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and / or procedures.
• Follow up on calls / voicemails and document phone log / conversation
• Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
• Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
• Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.
• Main fax line Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
• Travel to other CLS Health Locations
• Performs related duties as required.
