QUALITY SPECIALIST

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Quality Specialist in Richmond, Virginia. The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met across our services. The individual in this role will be responsible for performing quality checks, audits, inspections, and assisting in the development and improvement of quality control systems. Seeking candidates with a minimum two years’ experience in quality control role; Experience with quality management systems (Six Sigma, Lean, or similar certifications); Advanced studies in heavy equipment component repair, failure analysis, engineering or related field preferred; Proven track record in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives; High school diploma or equivalent.

Requirements for the Quality Specialist position include :

• General understanding of components used in heavy equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to details.
• Must possess ability to lead technician training.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Requires ability to move between projects as priorities change.
• Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical requirements must be met for the Quality Specialist job, including regularly being required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and / or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
