Nurse Mentor

Part-time (10-12 hours per week - very flexible ) No weekends or holidays!

The Nurse Mentor provides guidance, support, and clinical expertise to nursing staff in the facility. This role is responsible for mentoring Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to enhance their clinical skills, professional development, and adherence to best practices in resident care.

Required Education :     Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Nurse Practitioner (NP) strongly preferred

Required Experience :   Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in long-term care setting and geriatric population; demonstrated leadership, teaching, mentoring, or precepting experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on mentorship and clinical guidance to nursing staff during shifts.
• Supports new nurses during orientation and integration into the facility.
• Observes, coaches, and provides constructive feedback to nursing staff on clinical practices, documentation, and resident interactions.
• Serves as a resource for evidence-based nursing practice and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON) and leadership team to identify staff learning needs.
