Overview
The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining client relationships to drive revenue growth within the construction and paving industry. This position serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned group of client accounts, with responsibility for retention, growth, and strategic business development.
The ideal candidate understands the full construction process - from bidding and estimating to project execution - and can effectively communicate the company's capabilities to clients. This role requires excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of a client's organization.
Responsibilities
Engage new and existing users to provide value around how users can be more successful with our current portfolio
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management teams to prepare accurate and competitive proposals.
- Participate in bid reviews and preconstruction meetings to align client expectations with project scope and company capabilities.
- Present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with new and existing clients.
- Engage with clients regularly to understand their upcoming projects, challenges, and long-term needs.
- Proactively and efficiently manage resources with dedicated teams, virtual teams, and executive staff around opportunities to ensure successful outcomes.
- Align the overall company solution to the customer's business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills : writing, editing, and presenting.
- Ability to resolve complex problems.
- Build and maintain a consistently strong pipeline.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry meetings to promote company services and strengthen client relationships.
- Provide feedback to management regarding market opportunities, client feedback, and operational improvements.
- Identify new and emerging vertical markets.
- Provide a consultative sales approach to clients.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and team building skills and techniques are required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience preferredMinimum of 7 years' successful experience as a direct contributor carrying an individual quotaWill have accomplished the following :Experience independently closing individual accounts with revenue over $250K+
Average deal size $10-35KAbility and experience selling to Manager and Director levels within the organizationExperience managing and directing the entire sales cycle from beginning to close.Candidate will be strategic in finding new business using technical knowledge and skillsetCreation and execution of quarterly and annual business plansGood management presence, communication skills, and credibilityProven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual / quarterly goals and targetsAttentive to forecasting and business reporting responsibilitiesAt least an intermediate level in using Microsoft Office products. Especially Excel, Word, and PowerPointExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interaction with staff, clients, and the public.Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to enforce compliance.Proficiency with basic technology (tablets, project management software, and digital reporting tools).Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.Must comply with company drug and alcohol testing requirements.Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, attention to detail, and a positive, goal-oriented attitude.Physical Requirements :
