Responsibilities :

• Provides leadership in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency throughout the department.
• Monitors production and labor efficiencies to ensure that company standards are met and maintains proper production practices.
• Direct supervision of four Production Supervisors.
• Directs all production activities through the Production Supervisors, as a member of the Plant Manager's staff, coordinates interdepartmental activities with other department managers.
• Plans department expense budget and the method of operation to remain within the budget and assures cost control and cost improvement projects.
• Monitors and controls labor, regrind levels, and material variances.
• Determine proper utilization of workforce based on production demands.
• Conducts daily production meetings and communicates with all departments to direct support group activities.
• Adherence to quality standards established by the company to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Trains and develops production personnel.
• Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
• Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
• Serve as the back up to the Plant Manager.
