We are a busy, privately owned small-animal hospital committed to providing exceptional patient care and a supportive, positive workplace for our team. We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager who is passionate about leadership, operational excellence, and cultivating a healthy hospital culture.
Position Overview
The Practice Manager oversees the business, administrative, and operational functions of the hospital. This role partners closely with the owner to support high-quality veterinary care, positive client experiences, and the success and well-being of the team.
This position is ideal for someone who is organized, confident, compassionate, and experienced in staff leadership and veterinary operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Hire, train, coach, and support all hospital staff; address performance issues when needed.
- Lead by example to promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture.
- Oversee scheduling for staff and veterinarians.
- Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and support ongoing staff development.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, OSHA, and company policies.
Hospital Operations
Maintain smooth daily operations and ensure high standards of client service and patient care.Oversee client communications, conflict resolution, and online reputation management.Keep hospital facilities, equipment, and technology maintained and operational.Ensure the hospital meets VMB and regulatory requirements.Financial & Administrative Management
Works with payroll company, bookkeeper and owner for payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and monthly financial reporting.Monitor budgets, revenue trends, and cost controls to ensure financial health.Maintain accurate records, licenses, renewals, and compliance requirements.Collaborate on fee schedules and pricing updates.Inventory & Vendor Relations
Maintain inventory systems, perform audits, and monitor controlled drugs.Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and oversee ordering processes.Marketing & Client Engagement
Support marketing efforts, including social media presence and community engagement.Uphold high standards for client communication, client satisfaction, and retention.What We Offer

Qualifications
1+ year of office management experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experienceVeterinary industry experience strongly preferredRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license a plusStrong leadership, communication, and organization skillsAbility to multitask, problem-solve, and adapt in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to work full shifts (up to 10 hours), with occasional after-hours availability for urgent staff needsWhy You'll Love Working Here
