The Regional Manager of Quality and Patient Safety position provides leadership for the Quality and Patient Safety program at all hospitals and clinics within Loyola University Medical Center of Chicago and Saint Joseph's Health Center in Mishawaka, IN. The Regional Manager is responsible for leading regional efforts to deliver world-class health care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and person centered. The Regional Manager is responsible for implementing the quality and safety plans for and identifying ongoing opportunities for improvement based on quality outcomes, trends in safety events, publicly reported data, and Trinity Health priority strategic aims. In collaboration with senior management and clinical leadership, the Manager will lead the development of short and long-term strategic and tactical plans, setting of priorities, allocation of resources, and development of relevant policies and procedures. The Manager will implement ongoing evaluation mechanism to assess progress of the quality and patient safety plan. The Regional Manager will routinely collaborate with Patient Relations / Patient Experience, Operational Excellence, providers, nursing, other clinical departments, regulatory and leaders throughout Trinity Health. The Regional Manager will oversee the work of quality specialists and patient safety colleagues.

Position responsibilities include :

• Quality Improvement : Oversees the daily operations of the quality improvement program and partners with senior leaders to drive organizational improvement efforts. Develops & implements strategic plans to maximize improvements in the quality, safety, & value of patient care services. Integrates traditional efforts to improve quality with Lean-Six Sigma to create a premier, data-driven quality improvement program that includes all departments, divisions, programs & all sites of care.
• Patient Safety : Manages the daily operations of the patient safety program to ensure a consistent and healthy culture of safety. Analyzes safety events to identify opportunities for improvement. Identifies trends and conducts root cause as well as failure mode analyses. Facilitates and monitors progress on action plan implementation of root cause analysis at each site by working with Quality and Risk Management staff. Formulates short- and long-term priorities and goals for improving patient safety.
• Quality Measurement : Oversees the collection, analysis, and reporting of data that leads to an information rich environment. This will support continuous measurement and improvement of clinical quality and patient safety. Implements systems to ensure ready access, understanding, education and use of data required to support a continuous learning and improvement environment. Completes, or ensures, that all accreditation and regulatory data reporting takes place in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner that meets the needs of all relevant agencies.
• Organizing Resources : Arranges systems, functions and resources within span of control to maximize quality of care, patient safety, and efficient operations. Recruits, interviews and selects staff in collaboration with Human Resources and ensures that staffing guidelines / standards are maintained. Utilizes measurements of quality and productivity to evaluate systems and staffing.
• Planning : Guides the development of the quality and safety plans and oversees the implementation of the plan. This includes analysis of environmental issues, quality and financial data to collaboratively develop systematic plans for achievement of goals. Adapts goals and plans to respond to the environment and successfully meet challenging, but achievable goals.
• Financial Management : Provides input into quarterly forecasts to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operation of hospital programs and meet organizational goals. Responsible for expense management and oversight to achieve or exceed fiscal goals. Participates in decision-making for the departmental capital needs.
• Team Building : Fosters positive team collaboration and staff development across Loyola Medicine and St. Joseph Health System to facilitate effective and efficient operations, employee engagement and achievement of quality, safety and service excellence goals.
• Communication : Provides communication to administration, faculty, management and staff to establish understanding of the organization mission and strategic goals necessary to achieve organizational goals. Meets regularly with medical directors, department chairs and direct reports to facilitate communication, goal setting and decision making. Represents the programs, services and achievements of the hospital to the community, regulatory agencies, media and government.

Compensation :

Pay range : $96,782- $159,702. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
