Job Overview - Occupational Therapist :
Join our client's team as an Occupational Therapist in Brooklyn, NY. In this full-time role, you will design and implement therapy treatment plans to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities for medically referred participants. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will make a meaningful impact in both clinical and community settings.
Compensation : $60 / hour
Location : Brooklyn, NY
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm
Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist :
- Participant Evaluation : Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans at PACE sites, homes, or nursing facilities.
- Care Planning : Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and update individualized care plans.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records, including evaluations, progress notes, and care plans, per policies.
- Education and Training : Provide clinical instruction to staff, students, and volunteers and lead training programs.
- Discharge Planning : Recommend equipment and coordinate smooth participant transitions.
- Collaboration and Safety : Consult with healthcare professionals, ensure safety standards, and provide education during community visits.
Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist :
Education : Successful completion of a Physical Therapy program from an APTA-accredited university.Licensure : Current New York State licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist is required.Experience : At least 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably with geriatric or frail populations.Skills : Proficient in using OT modalities and equipment, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and staff.Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with PACE regulations, Care Compass, and other EMR systems.Attributes : Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient-centered care.Travel : Must be able to travel to participant homes, nursing facilities, and clinics.Language Skills : Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.Application Notice : Qualified candidates will be contacted within 2 business days of application.
