CLX Engineering is searching for an experienced Automation Integration Engineer III—someone who doesn’t just build systems, but owns them from the first spark of design to the final moment a conveyor hums to life. This is a role for the engineer who thrives in the chaos of live environments, loves solving puzzles under pressure, and takes pride in bringing complex automation to life with precision and craftsmanship.
If you’ve spent time working with conveyor controls or airport technologies like EDS machines, scanning arrays, vision systems, or baggage systems, you’ll feel right at home here. We want someone who’s curious, analytical, steady-handed, and hungry to become a true subject matter expert in the airport automation world. You’ll be the face of CLX on-site — the technical lead clients trust and the teammate your crew relies on when the stakes are sky-high.
If you’re drawn to meaningful work, enjoy responsibility, and want to help systems quietly move millions of travelers every year, this is where your next chapter lifts off.
This position will require frequent travel to project sites as needed.
What you will do :
- Lead on-site technical efforts; give daily updates; remove roadblocks.
- Support proposals, estimates, and early technical planning.

- Integrate networks : Ethernet / IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet; interface with VFDs, HMIs, SCADA, third-party equipment.
- Utilize Ignition for integration / visualization.
- Design / program / commission systems for boarding bridges and baggage handling.
- Update ACAD drawings; follow codes / standards.
- Supervise installs; troubleshoot and validate system performance.
- Build clear, user-friendly HMI screens.
- Collaborate on shared programming tasks.
- Perform full in-house testing and on-site commissioning.
- Prepare test plans, work plans, and DOOs.
- Support off-hours / overtime commissioning as needed.
- Supervise CLX and vendor crews.
- Work night shifts; travel occasionally.
- Operate in tight / low-light / variable-temperature airport spaces; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Participate in rotating on-call support.
- Coordinate material deliveries with logistics.
