We’re looking for a CPA with solid accounting expertise, nonprofit experience, and a heart for mission-driven work. This is a hands-on role overseeing all core financial functions, from day-to-day transactions to strategic reporting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for board presentation
- Ensure full compliance with nonprofit GAAP standards
- Manage payroll processing and reporting, including retirement contributions and general ledger entries
- Oversee accounts payable and ensure proper documentation of expenses
- Record and manage donation and tuition revenue with appropriate recognition practices
- Track and report restricted funds, pledges, and capital campaign contributions
- Conduct account reconciliations (bank, credit card, merchant services, A / R, A / P, payroll)
- Maintain detailed and organized financial records : ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices
- Audit and review purchase orders and vendor invoices
- Coordinate and support the annual financial audit
- Prepare and issue annual vendor 1099 forms
Qualifications :
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation requiredMinimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong nonprofit accounting background preferredExperience with fund accounting, donation revenue, and restricted fund trackingProficiency with accounting software and Microsoft ExcelDetail-oriented, with excellent organizational and analytical skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
