Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, and management of an autonomous navigation system that includes cameras, lidars, radars, and compute platform systems throughout their life cycles. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to ensure systems are designed to meet technical, operational, and system requirements while maintaining quality, safety, and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Define, analyze, and manage system-level requirements and architecture.
• Develop and maintain system specifications, interface definitions, and design documentation.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines (firmware, hardware, mechanical, to ensure cohesive system development.
• Lead or support system integration, verification, validation, and testing.
• Conduct trade studies, modeling, and simulations to guide design decisions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the system development life cycle.
• Ensure automotive compliance with ISO standards and regulations.
• Participate in design and technical reviews and support customer and stakeholder engagements.

Work Environment

The position requires working in the office 5 days a week, either in Bellevue, WA, or the Bay Area. The role involves collaborating directly with vendors to develop the product. The successful candidate will be part of a small team, consisting of themselves and the hiring manager, and should be comfortable working independently. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in autonomous vehicles and support firmware and hardware development, with a high visibility team and potential for direct employment.

This is a Contract (to potetnial full-time) position based out of Sunnyvale, CA and or can be located in Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $90.00 / hr.
