School Custodian

The School Custodian performs general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college or university campus environment. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package. Basic Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, no experience required, and no high school diploma, GED or college degree required. Preferred Qualifications include prior customer service experience and one (1) year of prior similar work experience. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining assigned areas, sweeping, removing debris, cleaning spills, and mopping floors, regularly checking trash receptacles, following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, notifying lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems, establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors, collecting, consolidating, and separating recycling into proper receptacles, cleaning and dusting desks, chairs, tables furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls, polishing hard surfaces, wiping and cleaning tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas, moving cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, cleaning interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees, sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, removing snow or performing other incidental seasonal tasks, maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms (cleaning and polishing as needed), and complying with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
