PLC Integration Engineer

Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering , or related field
2+ years of experience as a PLC Programmer or Integration Engineer in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience integrating PLC software into production lines at customer sites
Proficiency with Structured Text (ST) and object-oriented programming concepts
Experience commissioning and supporting automation systems in the field
Ability to troubleshoot network communication issues (IP-based systems)
Comfortable in customer-facing roles and providing technical support
Willingness to travel as needed for customer deployments
About the Role
We are hiring a PLC Integration Engineer to support the integration, commissioning, and deployment of advanced IPC-based automation systems at customer sites. This role blends hands-on field work with software development, testing, and customer collaboration. You will work closely with engineering teams to implement reliable, scalable automation solutions while ensuring smooth customer adoption and long-term system performance.
This is a hybrid role in the Seattle area , offering a mix of onsite engineering, field deployment, and remote work.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate and deploy PLC software into new and existing customer production lines
Lead commissioning and installation of IPC-based automation systems at customer facilities
Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and implement software features and manufacturing processes using Structured Text (ST) in the Beckhoff TwinCAT environment
Define and execute testing protocols to validate system safety, reliability, and performance
Troubleshoot automation, software, and network issues during deployment and runtime
Document system workflows, device functionality, and operating procedures for customers and internal teams
Provide high-quality technical support and guidance to customers before, during, and after deployment
Maintain detailed documentation including test plans, results, defect reports, and change records
Partner with the Quality team to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 documentation standards
Technical Qualifications
Experience with object-oriented programming (C#, Java, Structured Text, or similar)
Understanding of modern OOP principles (inheritance, dependency injection, unit testing)
Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative code review workflows
Knowledge of network architectures and IP-based communication systems
Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT and / or Visual Studio strongly preferred
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
Knowledge of manufacturing environments and operational workflows
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical wiring issues
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript
Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and semantic versioning
Basic mechanical design or CAD experience

Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation
Prior experience in customer support or field engineering is a plus
Work Arrangement & Travel
Hybrid schedule : 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 days remote per week
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer deployments
