Senior Systems Administrator

The Channel's founding Technical Board Members include former government leaders and IT executives passionate about bringing best-of-breed technology to the government.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team!
Responsibilities :
- Manage, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, networks, and COTS software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform system backup and recovery, software management, security management, and troubleshooting of hardware / software / network issues.
- Allocate resources, tune system performance, and support system design and installation activities.
- Ensure compliance with DoD Directive 8140 and maintain required IAT Level 2 (or higher) certification in system administration and information security.
- Maintain IT-1 level designation in JPAS and adhere to all applicable Department of Defense security protocols.
Qualifications :
Ten (10) years of hands-on technical experience with the following : system backup / recovery; basic software management; security management; network management; operating computer systems; sizing, performance, tuning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware; operation systems and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software; hardware / software / network design, troubleshooting, and resource allocation.As per Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140 or superseding documentation, this position shall require Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) Level 2 or higher under specialty area 45 – System Administrator with certification in current Operating Systems and Information Security. This position shall also require an IT-1 level designation in Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).Position is contingent upon award.Work Location : Dahlgren NSWC, Virginia, United States
