Position Summary
We are seeking a Software Development Manager specializing in JD Edwards World systems to lead technical teams and manage enterprise application development in a fast-paced homebuilding environment. Position will be located in Arlington, Texas and require onsite availability 5 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage employee work assignments, recruiting, and team development
- Lead JD Edwards World 7.3 development projects focusing on Purchasing, Accounting, and Homebuilder modules
- Oversee AS400 system administration including user profiles, file journaling, subsystem maintenance, and object authorities
- Manage testing, validation, and defect correction in development environments
- Collaborate on JD Edwards enhancements, requirements, technical designs and project status
- Review RPG / LE, CLP / LE, SQL, and DDS code development for quality and correctness
- Handle Business Unit Security, Menu creation / modification, User setups, and security configurations
- Utilize debugging tools (STRDBG, STRISDB, JDEDBG) for problem resolution
- Manage Data Dictionary, G94 Menu operations, and Library List Control
- Write program specifications and provide technical documentation
- Ensure knowledge transfer to Documentation / Training teams
Conduct business professionally to serve customers and increase company profitability
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises 2+ software development employees
Required Qualifications
Experience
High school diploma or GED10+ years JD Edwards World application development experience2+ years supervisory experience on JD Edwards projectsStrong AS400 operating system knowledge
