The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, business-minded Vice President of People & Culture to lead our organization’s operations in the areas of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, employee development & engagement, HR reporting & compliance, compensation administration, performance management, and related activities. This is a hands-on role for a forward-thinking leader who can operationalize people strategy to support business goals, foster a high-performance culture, and build and reliably manage scalable, efficient HR systems and processes. As a mature but agile organization, we’re looking for someone to help us grow and evolve while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our success.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Business Partnership : Partner with executives and managers to assess organizational needs, workforce planning, and talent alignment to optimize business performance.
- Team Leadership : Lead and mentor existing P&C staff to ensure strong execution.
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition : Oversee and enhance recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
- Employee Engagement & Retention : Build programs and initiatives that foster employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.
- Performance Management : Strengthen performance management systems to ensure accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement.
- Compensation & Benefits : Advise executives on compensation and benefits programs to attract and reward talent and oversee related operations.
- Learning & Development : Drive leadership and professional development initiatives that support growth and skill-building across.
- Compliance & Risk Management : Implement processes and best practices to ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Employee Relations : Manage employee relations matters with integrity and discretion.
- Policy & Process Improvement : Streamline and modernize P&C policies, processes, and systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Reporting & Analytics : Implement and manage P&C systems and reporting to provide actionable insights for executive and board decision-making.
- Culture Stewardship : Champion the company’s values and culture, modeling collaboration, agility, and accountability across all teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.10+ years of relevant, progressive experience.Proven experience leading wide-ranging HR operations in a fast-paced, high-growth tech company, ideally one that serves the public sector and / or critical infrastructure industry.Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution in a lean, high-performing environment.Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational priorities and link P&C initiatives to business outcomes.High familiarity using HR systems, analytics, and process improvement tools, with the ability to generate meaningful reports and insights.High level of proficiency using Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, and other relevant software to consistently and efficiently generate professional documents and presentations.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and leadership levels.High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism and discretion.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where leaders are both strategists and doers.Success Attributes
