The Procurement Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of products and services from established vendors. This role supports daily supply chain operations to enable efficient product manufacturing. Key responsibilities include evaluating costs, negotiating vendor and supply pricing, analyzing business supply requirements, managing inventory, and ordering MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies as needed while achieving optimal cost savings.
Success in this position requires strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player with excellent negotiation abilities and the capacity to work independently when necessary. Creativity and engagement at multiple levels with outsourced vendors are essential. A solid understanding of business operations and a focus on creating efficient processes will be highly valued. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills are critical, as this role interacts with a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior leadership, suppliers, vendors, and production personnel.
Essential Functions :
- Procurement and purchasing :
Create and manage purchase orders for materials, tools, and services.
Process non-stock requisitions and issue RFPs for materials and services.Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve favorable prices, terms, and quality.Inventory and stock management :Maintain adequate stock of critical spare parts, tools, and supplies.
Implement and maintain minimum / maximum levels for MRO items.Monitor and manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and Kanban programs.Supplier and vendor management :Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with vendors.
Monitor supplier performance and address issues such late deliveries, incorrect shipments, quality, and service levels.Resolve invoice discrepancies and work with Accounts Payable.Collaboration and support :Consult with maintenance and production teams to understand their needs.
Provide support and data analysis to improve production efficiency.Function as Back up to Supply Chain Manager for other Purchasing / Planning aspects during absence / PTO.Reporting and analytics :Generate reports to track spending, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and best practices.Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistently with continuous improvement goals and the values of DSB Technologies which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.All other duties as assigned by management.Order parts and supplies as directed by Management / Maintenance, taking into consideration cost, quality, and service of suppliers while ensuring acknowledgment is acceptable.Competencies :
