Job Summary and Qualifications
The BMT/Oncology Clinic Pharmacist primarily works within the Cancer Care Clinic but also will rotate between the inpatient BMT/Oncology unit setting. The pharmacist works closely with medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff to provide exceptional patient care for hematology, oncology, BMT, biotherapy, and immune effector cellular therapy patients. The pharmacist ensures appropriate pharmacotherapy and clinical interventions; creates, implements and monitors order sets, protocols and guidelines; enhances the delivery of evidence-based medicine; provides medication distribution support and order entry; support for research; participation in quality improvement; provides representation at medical center committees and meetings.
They will be working alongside specialty physicians and nurses. They will coordinate and assist in determining oncology regimens related to autologous, allogeneic stem cell transplantation, and blood cancer treatment in general. They will also work with CAR T-cell and BiTE therapies. They will perform therapeutic drug monitoring. Patient counseling.
Type of culture (management style) of director or on the floor: BMT pharmacist will be considered the expert in this space, and the management style allows for independent decision making and autonomy.
What qualifications you will need:
Doctor of Pharmacy required
Current NV Pharmacist License required
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP)
PGY Oncology and/or Bone Marrow Transplant Pharmacy Practice Residency or
years clinical oncology practice experience required
Practice experience in a BMT/Oncology clinic with a collaborative practice agreement
