Job Title : Histology Technologist II

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience required

License : Valid State License

Certifications : ASCP-HT and ASCP-HTL

Must-Have :

• Experience working with various patient age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Familiarity with tissue processing techniques including grossing, fixation, and embedding.
• Proficiency in operating automated and manual microtomes.
• Experience in staining techniques such as H&E and special stains.
• Knowledge of immunohistochemistry.
• Documentation experience with EPIC or CERNER.

Description :

Histology Technologist II position in a hospital laboratory.

Responsible for embedding, cutting, making slides, and operating stainers.

Perform hand staining and immunohistochemistry.

Collaborate with pathology grossing technicians, pathology assistants, and pathologists.

Work alongside other departments as required.

Experience in tissue processing, including core biopsies and decalcification, is highly valued.

Familiarity with various fixatives and embedding techniques is necessary.

The role includes making and handling tissue sections using microtomes.

Must prepare frozen sections and mount them on glass slides.

Responsible for identifying artifacts and ensuring high-quality tissue processing.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in histology staining techniques and documentation systems.
