The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, through Brown Health Medical Group, serves as the academic emergency medicine practice plan for the Brown University medical community.
The department provides emergency care and faculty staffing across four major hospitals in Rhode Island : Rhode Island Hospital, the region's only Level I Trauma Center; Hasbro Children's Hospital, the state's only children's specialty hospital; The Miriam Hospital, a leading community teaching hospital; and Newport Hospital, a community Magnet Hospital.
Collectively, our physicians and advanced practice providers treat more than 250,000 patients each year across these four sites, serving communities throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

The Department of EM is looking for a full-time Emergency Medicine Pediatric Advanced Practice Trainee (EMPAT) at Hasbro Children's Hospital who is either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant.
Applications will be accepted through February 1, 2026. The anticipated start date for these positions is September 1, 2026.

Program Overview :
A 12-month post-graduate training program directed by the Department of EM faculty and Pediatric APPs to support a comprehensive pediatric emergency medicine training program.
The program utilizes Hasbro Children's Hospital as the site for the orientation, training, and clinical rotations for newly graduated or non-emergency medicine trained APPs. Hasbro Children's Hospital is affiliated with The Alpert Medical School of Brown University & Brown University Health and is a teaching facility.
