PRN Float CT Technologist

Position : PRN Float CT Technologist

Schedule : Shifts will vary in Birmingham centers Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday's.

American Health Imaging is looking for a registered PRN CT Technologist in Birmingham, AL. This is a PRN role, with varying shifts Monday-Friday, and occasional Saturday's.

Job Summary : As a registered CT Technologist, you will perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients.

Responsibilities :

• Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patient
• Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patients' needs and questions
• Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on / off examination table as needed.
• Monitor patients during exam
• Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies
• Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administration
• Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast
• Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices
• Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as needed
• Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentation
• Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient
• Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner
• Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
• Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
• Use infection control practices
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
• All other duties as assigned
