License : Required

Certifications : ARRT, BLS, Certified CT Technologist - ARRT (CT)

Must-Have : At least 2 years of experience

Description :

General certification requirements include BLS.

Certifications required are California CRT and ARRT, as well as CT ARRT.

The department has 2 scanners.

Common types of imaging / studies performed include brain, abdomen, pelvis, spine, biopsies, drainage, extremities, angio, and cryoablation.

Average number of scans / studies per day is 85-100.

The technology used includes Radnet and Merge PACS.

Department-specific equipment includes Canon 16 slice and Canon 80 slice.

A lead technologist supervises the department.

Registered Radiology Assistants are not utilized.

There is a radiologist in-house during the day and on-call after normal hours.

IV starts are managed by IR nurses or floor and ED nurses for their patients undergoing CT procedures.

12-hour shifts are in place.

Weekend requirements are every other weekend.

Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday.

No standby or call response time is required.

Scrub colors are teal, and scrubs are provided.

Department-specific orientation is conducted by the lead technologist or senior technologists.

The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment.

Charting is done using Cerner.

A BSN is not required.

Trauma level is acute.

This role is part of the allied division.
