Implementing behavior plans, de-escalation, data collection, emotional regulation support. Assist with medication administration and documentation as required Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals You can choose to work one of the following available shifts 2 : 15 pm to 11 : 00 pm 10 : 30 pm to 7 : 00 am We do NOT hire part-time, PRN, or Weekend-only positions Experience in providing care to individuals with developmental disabilities or similar populations preferred but not required Ability to work effectively with people with diverse needs and backgrounds Strong communication skills to interact with individuals, families, and team members Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team orientated environment Starting pay of $19.10 per hour Pay increase to $20.42 after 6 months of employment Shift differential of $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 6pm and 6am Sign on bonus paid over 6 months PAID Training including becoming a Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life Benefits Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off – 30 days off per year

JOB DESCRIPTION :
At Hands of Heartland, we believe that people with developmental disabilities are people first. We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our team as a Habilitation Specialist to provide care to the individuals we support at the Laura Dester Children’s Center (LDCC). The LDCC is an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF / IID) that serves 25 clients who do not require physical assistance with mobility or feeding. Most direct support work focuses on habilitation and behavioral management. You will work with children and adolescents who have developmental disabilities as well as behavioral support needs and mental illness.
