Parts Puller

Job Title : Junior Mechanic / Parts Puller.

Reports To : Yard Manager.

Job Type : Full-time, Non-Exempt.

Location : U Pull It 49 Hopkins (49 Hopkins Street Buffalo NY, 14220).

Hours : Monday - Friday 8 : 00AM to 4 : 00 PM, Saturday as needed.

Compensation : $20-21 / hr, based on skills and experience.

Purpose : The Junior Mechanic / Parts Puller is responsible for removing parts from salvaged vehicles, ensuring that parts are properly identified, organized, and prepared for sale to customers. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

• Removing parts from vehicles to be sold to customers.
• Clean and prepare the job site and yard in a tidy and safe manner.
• Prepare vehicles for dismantling, remove fluids such as gas or oil from vehicles, disconnect battery, airbags, and any other electrical component.
• Remove tires from vehicles.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to remove usable parts and components, such as engines, transmissions, wheels, tires & interior parts.
• Reduce waste by identifying useable and non-usable parts.
• Sort and process parts.
• Maintain inventory and records.
• Inspect parts for quality and defects.
• Adhere to safety regulations, environmental regulations, and company policies while performing duties.
• Ensuring all equipment is properly inspected and following proper lifting and handling techniques to prevent injury.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reports any issues to their manager.
