Aspirus Medford Hospital in Medford, WI is seeking a EMERGENCY ROOM TECHNICIAN to join our EMERGENCY ROOM team!

The Emergency Room Technician is a member of the patient care team that provides clerical duties and direct patient care in the Emergency Department under the direction of the Department Director, licensed nursing staff and providers. They strive to meet the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff.

HOURS: Occasional 0.01 FTE, Hours and Shifts as Needed

Experience/Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MA program; enrolled in an approved nursing program, having completed the basic nursing arts required; certified nursing assistant or have completed the EMT basic course
• Current BLS Certification

Preferred Education:

• Medical terminology course
• Basic computer course

Required Experience:

• Patient care in a clinic, acute care hospital or ambulance

Preferred Experience:

• Six (6) months experience in an acute care hospital
• Communication skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using computer information systems. Ability to speak effectively to patients, families and co-workers. Keyboarding skills.
• Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems and make decisions based on available information involving variable situations.
