Occupational Therapist Assistant

Location : Salem, MA

Duration : 2025-2026 School Year, ESY and NSY

Start Date : ASAP

Schedule : Part time : 16 - 24 hours / week

Pay Rate : Up to $40 / hour based on experience and licensure

Experience : Certified COTA, MA licensure, experience working with school-aged children, reliable transportation for traveling to both schools

Job Description :

Provide occupational therapy support in individual, small group, and inclusive settings across multiple schools

Assist Occupational Therapist with assessments and recommendations

Implement students' IEP goals and maintain accurate documentation

Adapt classroom environments, tools, and materials to improve student access and participation

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and attend meetings / trainings

Ensure compliance with special education regulations and professional ethics

Maintain therapy equipment and provide staff consultation under supervision

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work independently or as part of a team

Minimum Requirements :

• Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice
• Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy Assistant required
• One (1) year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
