Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at a reputable laboratory in Tualatin. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and maintaining accurate records, while providing exceptional customer service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as they arrive at the lab and explain procedures clearly and courteously.
• Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Collect, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to established procedures and test orders.
• Ensure accuracy by matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and checking all test requisitions against scripts.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature to maintain integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department training sessions.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to callers.
• Prepare sites for blood draws, handle insurance and billing processes, and process samples efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service to all patients.

Work Environment

The position is located at a laboratory in Tualatin. The work schedule is from 5 : 00 AM to 1 : 30 PM, Monday to Friday, and every other weekend and potential holiday work as needed. The initial contract duration is 3 months, with a possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. The laboratory offers a strong team culture with opportunities for growth and movement into different departments.

This is a Contract position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.11 / hr.
