Human Resource Generalist
The City of Chaska is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-driven Human Resource Generalist to join our HR team. As a natural relationship-builder, problem-solver, and organizer, you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations while contributing to projects that strengthen our HR functions and enhance how we support and engage employees across the organization. Your work will help shape a positive, supportive, and engaging workplace for all city employees.
Responsibilities include administering core human resource programs, delivering and managing employee benefits programs, leading and supporting recruitment and selection activities, providing HR support and customer service, supporting policy development and implementation, managing HRIS data and system processes, coordinating the workers' compensation and return-to-work process, maintaining HR records and process departmental transactions, supporting employee engagement, training, and special HR initiatives, and advancing organizational inclusion, belonging, and cultural agility goals.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a closely related field, three years of Human Resource experience, and a valid driver's license or ability to obtain by hire date. Other required knowledge, skills, and abilities include demonstrated organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience in applicant tracking system (preferred NeoGov). Preferred qualifications include public / municipal HR experience, HR Certification, general knowledge of HRIS systems, and knowledge of and experience with federal and state laws regarding public sector employment law.
