IN SUMMARY

The Bakery Department is a member of the Prepared Foods Team which includes all deli service staff, prep kitchen staff and bakery staff. Our bakers operate in a busy environment in our commissary facility next door, fondly called our Bakehouse. Our bakery team is responsible for all sales and merchandising in the retail store (next door), understanding and executing all opening / closing procedures, following recipes and baking our products, receiving of deliveries and inspecting for quality, being aware of the power of merchandising and keeping our retail cases / shelves appealing. Merchandising and sales is shared responsibility with the deli who helps stock the cold and dry cases in the store.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO DO BE ABLE TO DO – with or without an accommodation

WHAT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT IS LIKE

It is tight! Not quite being packed in like sardines, but pretty close sometimes. It may be necessary to step outside depending on the task at hand or walk between buildings. Be prepared for all weather conditions. That means from time to time you will need a raincoat, warm outerwear, boots, and an appreciation of Vermont’s beautiful and changing weather!

MAINTAINING A CLEAN & SANITARY WORK ENVIRONMENT

Follow all safety and health protocols | Housekeeping is important | Tidy up your workspace regularly | Wipe down frequently touched surfaces | Pick up items on the floor that could be trip / fall hazards.

Requirements :

WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO HAVE

Must be 16+ years old

1+ year experience working in a commercial production bakery

Outstanding communication and organizational skills

Attention to detail

Ability to follow recipes and learn new techniques

WHAT’S NICE TO HAVE

The more experience the better!
