Cooke County CSCD is hiring a Community Supervision Officer (Probation Officer) to supervise adult offenders on community supervision (probation) for felony and misdemeanor cases. This role involves a mix of office and field work, interacting directly with probationers, the court, and various community resources to promote rehabilitation and public safety.
Responsibilities :
Supervise a caseload of individuals placed on community supervision.
Conduct regular office and field visits to monitor compliance with court conditions.
Perform urinalysis testing and document results.
Complete intake interviews, risk assessments, and individual case plans.
Refer clients to counseling, treatment, or educational programs as needed.
Report non-compliance and violations in a timely, accurate manner.
Prepare and submit clear, detailed reports, including pre-sentence investigation reports.
Testify in court as required.
Collaborate with law enforcement and treatment providers.
Maintain professionalism in all interactions and documentation.
Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
Preferred degree fields : Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, or related areas.
Related work experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational and time-management abilities.
Must pass criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screening.
Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
Physical Requirements :
Must be physically capable of light to moderate activity (walking, standing, lifting).
Ability to respond appropriately to potentially confrontational situations.
Fieldwork and occasional physical exertion required.
Schedule :
Full-time, Monday to Friday
Occasional after-hours work may be required
