About the Role
Base is seeking a highly competent and safety-focused Journeyman Electrician to serve as a critical component of our maintenance team in our downtown Austin manufacturing facility. The primary focus of this role is on the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial electrical systems to ensure continuous facility operations. This role will also leverage your expertise to support Base's residential battery fleet.What You'll Focus On : Commercial & Facility Operations
What You'll Do
Commercial / Industrial Systems Installation : Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electrical components within the manufacturing facility, including :
Three-phase power distribution (e.g., 480V systems, feeders, subpanels).
Industrial lighting (e.g., 208V / 480V) and production equipment.
Switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and grounding systems.
Blueprint & Code Compliance : Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams. Ensure all facility work strictly adheres to the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) and local Austin AHJ commercial regulations.
Conduit & Wiring : Expertly install and bend various types of conduit (EMT, Rigid, O-CAL), pull wire, and terminate connections for new equipment installations and upgrades.
Emergency Response : Serve as the primary on-site expert for urgent electrical issues within the manufacturing facility.
Secondary Duties : Residential Battery Fleet Support
Advanced Troubleshooting : Provide high-level technical support, diagnosis, and repair for complex field failures involving Base's residential battery backup systems.
Quality & Inspection Oversight : Support installer crews by performing quality control checks and performing necessary reworks to ensure all residential installations pass inspection.
Training : Assist with the technical training and mentorship of new installation crews on NEC code and best practices specific to residential battery system integration.
What You'll Bring
Certification : Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License is required.
Experience : 6 + years of hands-on experience, with a heavy emphasis on commercial, industrial, or manufacturing electrical maintenance and installation.
Technical Proficiency : Strong working knowledge of three-phase power, control circuits, and motor controls. Experience with PLCs or industrial automation is a plus.
Code Mastery : Deep, practical understanding of the NEC as applied to both commercial / industrial and residential (e.g., energy storage) environments.
Location : Ability to work on-site at our downtown Austin manufacturing location.
