We’re Hiring : Automotive Diesel Technician

Location : 100 Terminal Street, Charlestown MA, 02129

Job Type : Full Time

Company : Portside Truck & Auto Repair

Pay : $25 - $38 / hr.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Class A, B or C Automotive Diesel Technician to join our fully renovated state-of-the-art facility here in Charlestown, MA.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, electrical troubleshooting, fuel and emissions system, air and hydraulic brake repairs, welding and fabrication, driveline, steering and suspension, plus other duties assigned.
  • Assisting fellow technicians with repairs while maintaining compliance with safety.
  • Maintaining knowledge of new technology in advanced diagnostics, internal engine and transmission repairs.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Completing necessary training.

What We’re Looking For :

  • 2 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience (heavy- duty preferred)
  • Advanced skills in strategy-based diagnostics; be able to utilize diagnostic tools and computers to identify root cause and correction.
  • Freightliner, Detroit, Cummins, Eaton experience preferred.
  • ASE certifications, knowledge of DOT standards.

    • Additional Qualifications :

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred but not required.
