Credit Analyst (Grade 5 / 6)
The Credit Department is responsible for administering a consistent purchase policy while supporting the Southeast Toyota dealer body. The department reviews retail and lease credit applications for purchase while maintaining compliance of all internal and external guidelines and regulations.
Position Overview
The Credit Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing credit risks assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to potential customers. This associate has contact with other company departments as well as automobile dealers retail customers and other finance and credit sources.
Position Responsibilities
The SETF Credit Department is searching for a Credit Analyst to make sound credit decisions on automotive retail and lease offerings. Duties include but are not limited to :
Leverage credit data to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit. Make decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within set credit authority and guidelines established by senior management and state / federal laws. Procure and maintain strong performing credit portfolio.
Cultivate and preserve strong dealer relationships by communicating in a pro-active manner and offering support to ensure volume objectives and credit quality are achieve.
Leverages empathy to communicate the rationale when deals are conditioned or declined. Manages difficult or emotional customer situations. Responds promptly to customer needs.
Exemplifies our core values by treating associates with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others.
Ensure compliance to state federal lending laws including ECOA UDAAP and Truth in Lending.
Ability to evaluate financial documents to calculate income and ability to repay.
Position Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
1-3 years of automotive lending experience required. Knowledge of credit reporting agencies ability to analyze credit reports.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills leveraging both logic and creativity that translate information into actionable results while delivering high quality outcomes.
Must possess strong organizational verbal and written communication skills.
Strong relationship building skills with the ability to establish rapport with associates at all levels throughout the organization and within our dealerships.
Ability to work in a fast paced high volume team-based environment.
Must be able to work late nights Saturdays and holidays on a rotational basis.
Must be an active participant in the business continuity plan by volunteering for bunker or flyout teams on a rotational basis.
Prior experience working with direct dealership contact or dealership facing functions preferred .
Prior experience with LOS systems (Defi preferred).
