Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Technician to support the AKIRA Construction & Facilities team with store openings, rebuilds, and ongoing maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess basic construction skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in new store openings and rebuilds, including : Sanding, painting, cutting, and building in-store fixtures
• Installing appliances and equipment at store locations
• Transport materials to and from job sites
• Support skilled trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons) as needed
• Operate hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, etc.) safely and effectively
• Perform equipment inspections and routine maintenance on tools
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines
• Travel to various Chicagoland locations and occasionally out of state
• Respond to urgent facilities needs outside of standard business hours (occasional nights and weekends)

At AKIRA, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The starting pay range for this position is $17.00 an hour , based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation and benefits may also apply and will be discussed during the hiring process.
