Investment Counselor
Our client, a highly respected fee-only portfolio management and fiduciary firm with over $200 billion in assets under management, is looking for qualified financial professionals to join their firm in their Dallas, TX office as an Investment Counselor. As an Investment Counselor, you will be provided with a roster of high-net-worth clients to provide our client’s specialized approach focusing on their private clients and use your financial experience to better the established investment space.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Become the voice of our client and partner with the firm’s internal portfolio decision-makers, auxiliary research teams, client service associates, and renowned sales team to give their clients the best service possible, while making sure the compensation structure aligns with their clients’ best interests
- Obtain an elevated finance and capital markets education to understand our client’s unique market approach by reporting to your group manager, who will assist you in navigating client relationships and provide personalized career development
- Build trusting relationships with high-net-worth clientele and educate them on our client’s top-down portfolio strategy, investments, and important market events
- Connect proactively with clients on a quarterly basis to review asset allocation and ensure they are on the path towards long-term financial goals
- Rely on an established sales team to gradually build your roster of high-net-worth clients within the first year; you are given a book of 150 to 200 households with a net worth of $100 million to $150 million in assets under management of high-net-worth clients with assets more than $500k per household, meant to manage client relationships and discuss portfolios and investments with them
Requirements
2 or more years of client relationship management within the financial industryCurrent Investment Advisor Representative designation, OR Series 65, OR a combination of FINRA Series 7 and Series 66, OR qualifying financial professional designations or equivalents—the firm will also assist you in obtaining the Series 65 within 60 days of start dateBachelor’s degree in finance or related fields, or equivalent work experienceExtensive market knowledge with experience in the client focused-consultative approachBenefits

5 to 7 years or more of selling to stock market investors within the financial industry Current Investment Advisor Representative designation, OR Series 65, OR a combination of FINRA Series 7 and Series 66, OR qualifying financial professional designations or equivalents Extensive experience with bringing in new investor business, high-volume phone activity, and in-person meetings, working as an investment advisor or external wholesaler with a strong track record of success in sales and bringing in new investment assets Record of six-figure earnings in each of the past 3 years (pay for production compensation model)
