VMware Engineer

Imagine One is currently seeking multiple candidates for positions supporting the U.S. Navy at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). We are looking for VMware Engineer to provide engineering support. Work will be on-site at Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, Virginia. The VMware Engineer must have ability to travel up to 15 percent.
Responsibilities for VMware Engineer:

• Supports virtualization-based O&M tasking of deployed operational Infrastructure solutions backed by Citrix, Microsoft, NetApp, Nutanix, Veeam, and VMware
• Conduct technical investigations of customer reported issues
• Collaborate with customer engineers and other VMware 3rd-party resources to investigate customer reported issues
• Provide input on product direction, design, and development
• Perform root cause analysis of customer reported issues
• Participate in design decisions
• Contribute to product documentation and manuals
• Provide assistance in product training, customer meetings, and speaking engagements
• Participate in and participate in product release planning

Desired Qualifications for VMware Engineer:

• US Navy ship system experience and understanding -specifically in virtualizing Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems
• Strongly desired to hold advanced certifications in a technical area, such as CCNA, NCAP, CISSP, VCP, NCDA, CCA, RHCSA, Azure Fundamentals, or similar
• Demonstrated experience implementing, operating, tuning, optimizing, and maintaining solutions to provide virtualization, storage, data protection, and networking services for enterprise level consumers
• Demonstrated experience leveraging vendor-provided best practices, systems, applications, and services to regularly patch and upgrade solutions
• Expert knowledge of vSphere and vCloud Director; experience with ESXi, vCenter and vMotion
• Expert knowledge of best practice VMware deployment techniques

Minimum Experience Qualifications for VMware Engineer:

• Shall have five or more years of hands-on experience providing progressively complex Enterprise IT administration or engineering support in one or more of the following areas: virtualized environments, servers, cybersecurity, endpoints, and/or networks
• Demonstrated ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts
• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining enterprise-level technologies, such as Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix, NetApp, RHEL, Citrix, Cisco, or similar
• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining solutions in secure processing environments that utilize Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Shall meet the Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) System Administrator (451); Intermediate Level for SECNAV M-5239.2 compliance

Education Requirements for VMware Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
• CompTIA Security+ CE
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Security Requirements for VMware Engineer:

• ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI DoD Clearance Required (no interim)
