The new Director of the Chief Learning Officer Executive Doctoral Program will lead the program beginning in summer 2026. The successful candidate will build on the strengths of this important program while also bringing new vision and deep commitment to quality, innovation, and impact.
Job Description
The Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Ed.D program is a three-year doctoral degree designed for senior leaders from various professional backgrounds. It delivers a rigorous academic program in an executive format focused on integrating theory with business practice. Students hone skills in strategic management, leadership, fostering inclusive environments, and evidence-based decision making. More than 250 students from over 35 countries have graduated from the program, representing Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, philanthropies and health care
The Director will :
The Director will also contribute to the overall direction and mission of Penn GSE. The School offers eight executive format doctoral and masters' programs for working professionals that are seeking to advance as leading practitioners in their field. The Director of the Chief Learning Officer Executive Doctoral Program will also serve on the Executive Programs Leadership Team.
The position is eligible for some hybrid work, with weekly presence on campus and required on-site participation at all instructional sessions, Executive Program Leadership Team meetings, program faculty meetings, and other school-wide activities.
Salary is commensurate with experience, consistent with university human resource salary frameworks.

Qualifications
A doctoral degree and 5-7 years of experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the talent and organizational development needs across corporate, entrepreneurial, non-profit, and government sectors, knowledge of higher education necessary to teach and chair dissertations, and experience managing staff and program budgets are essential. Prior experience leading academic programs (design, delivery, and operations) preferred.

$93,500.00 - $170,000.00 Annual Rate
Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
