You will work under the guidance of the Nurse Manager / Clinical Coordinator and play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising patient care on a nursing unit / department according to established policies and procedures. You will also oversee non-RN personnel and may take on charge responsibilities as needed, facilitating unit activities and staff distribution across various nursing units. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute positively to patient care and team dynamics while performing other duties to ensure high service levels. Responsibilities Continuously assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout their care journey. Develop, communicate, and document personalized care plans that address patient needs, involving patients, families, and the healthcare team in the process. Implement and coordinate the care plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan and the patient's response, adjusting as necessary and making referrals when indicated. Assess educational needs and readiness of patients and families, providing tailored educational interventions and documenting their outcomes. Act as a preceptor for new staff members. Take on charge nurse responsibilities when required. Achieve expectations in customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and personal development as outlined in performance reviews. Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the unit. Demonstrate competency in caring for neuro patients. Exhibit skills and knowledge in neuro assessments. Manage airways effectively for neuro patients. Caring for trached patients with competence. Assist physicians during special neuro procedures with skill and understanding. Understand and apply knowledge from our TIA teaching program. Perform various suctioning procedures according to established standards. Demonstrate proficiency in using equipment and caring for patients in a halo brace. Understand and fulfill nursing responsibilities for ventilated patients. Qualifications EDUCATION : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Proficiency in electronic patient records and literature searches via the internet. EXPERIENCE : N / A LICENSURE : Valid State Registered Nurse License SPECIAL SKILLS : BLS certification required. Additional Information : Med / Surg RN experience required.
