Job Summary:

The Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) in Madison, Wisconsin is recruiting a urologist to lead our Division of Pediatric Urology. We are seeking an outstanding, fellowship-trained pediatric urologist to deliver state-of-the art medical and surgical care, while advancing the field and training the next generation of physicians. Candidates are expected to establish an academic program and disseminate their findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national professional meetings. Service to the institution and profession are also expected. Hire at the Associate Professor or Professor level requires approval by the SMPH faculty appointments and promotions committee. Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin, is situated on several scenic lakes, and is frequently cited as one of the best cities in which to live.   • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
  • This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Since the 1920s, the Urology Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has had the tradition of providing technologically advanced urologic care for the people of Wisconsin and beyond. Today, we retain the principles of the past and have moved our efforts toward providing state-of-the-art urologic care for present and future generations.

Our highly acclaimed program focuses on cutting-edge surgical care for adult and pediatric urologic patients while conducting innovative research and training the next generation of academic urologists. Our Department consists of all major subspecialties, including Urologic Oncology, Endourology, Men's Health, Pediatric Urology, Women's Pelvic Wellness, Andrology/Infertility, and Urinary Reconstruction programs.

Compensation:

Negotiable, 12 month

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of Urology Residency
  • Completion Pediatric Urology Fellowship by start date
  • Candidates must have a strong history of academic accomplishment
  • Must have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License
  • Must have board certification or board eligibility in Urology through the American Board of Urology
  • Must be eligible for enrollment as a UW Health billing provider and all necessary hospital privileges
Preferred Qualifications:
  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.
Education:

MD or DO, or equivalent required
