LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly Technician for a direct-hire opportunity with a growing and reputable manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys building mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring products meet the highest quality standards.
Position Overview
The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems based on engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. This role requires precision, technical skill, and a commitment to quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly, problem-solving, and working collaboratively in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly & Installation
- Assemble mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Install and adjust subassemblies and mechanical systems to precise specifications.
Quality Control
Perform quality checks to ensure all components and completed assemblies meet specifications and industry standards.Identify any defects, inconsistencies, or deviations and address appropriately.Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly.Recommend corrections to components, tools, or procedures as needed.Tool & Equipment Operation
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments such as torque wrenches, calipers, and micrometers.Maintain calibration and proper use of tools and equipment.Documentation & Reporting
Record assembly activities, part usage, and any changes made during the build process.Complete necessary forms, checklists, and production logs.Team Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, quality control, sales, and production teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely product delivery.Communicate issues proactively and participate in team problem-solving.Maintenance & Safety
Support routine maintenance of tools and equipment to maintain optimal functionality.Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.Testing & Inspection
Assist with testing and inspection of completed assemblies to verify functionality before moving to the next production stage.Continuous Improvement
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and workflow.Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Technical training or certifications in mechanical assembly or related fields preferred.Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or production environments.Skills & Capabilities
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with assembly processes.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Proficient with hand tools and power tools.Basic understanding of quality control practices and troubleshooting techniques.Knowledge of 24VDC systems a plus.Soldering skills and simple wiring experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move components up to 60 lbs.Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb step ladders for extended periods.Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.Pay Details : $18.00 to $22.00 per hour
