Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location : Springfield, IL 62702 (Acute Care Facility - Med / Surg Unit)

Start Date : August 18, 2025

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour (18 : 30 - 07 : 15)

Weekends : Every other weekend

Float Required : Yes

Orientation : 24 hours

Position Summary :

Protouch Staffing is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Medical-Surgical contract at an acute care facility in Springfield, IL. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients on a 21-bed med / surg unit.

Requirements :

  • License : Active RN (Illinois or Compact)
  • Experience : Minimum 2 years Med / Surg
  • Certifications :

Required : BLS

  • Preferred : Heparin, PCA, IV starts
  • Preferred Background : Teaching hospital or charge nurse experience

    • Key Skills :

  • IV therapy & phlebotomy
  • Peripheral & PICC line care
  • Blood product administration
  • Wound care
  • Feeding tube & colostomy care
  • TPN & NG tube management
  • Telemetry (remote monitoring)
  • Rapid response team participation

    • Common Patient Conditions :

  • GI bleed
  • Bowel obstruction
  • Colon cancer
  • Diverticulitis
  • Alcohol withdrawal
  • Pancreatitis
