Job Title : Data Center Construction Technician

Job Description

We are seeking mechanically inclined individuals to join our team at a data center in Altoona, IA. As a technician, you will work with blueprints and use hand and power tools to assemble and mount trays, server racks, and pull fiber optic cable. You will perform various tasks, including scanning inventory, unpacking materials, building server racks, installing servers and switches, and running cable. Training will be provided. This position is entry-level, offering a great opportunity to enter the data center industry.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and mount trays and server racks using blueprints.
• Pull fiber optic cable from point A to point B.
• Scan inventory and unpack boxes of materials.
• Break down shipping materials and build server racks.
• Install servers and switches, and run cable.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Altoona, Iowa, performed on an active construction site. The job requires adherence to safety protocols and the wearing of PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves. The schedule consists of five 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 7am to 5 : 30pm, with occasional Saturdays if needed. The environment is an assembly line atmosphere for the build-out of server racks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00 / hr.
