Work Based Learning Program Logistics Specialist

Amazon Web Services (AWS) are seeking Logistics Specialists as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings in 2025. Trainees will participate in our 12-month work and training program in our Northern Virginia facilities.

All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations :

• Regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41 pounds
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24 / 7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
• Working in cramped and / or elevated and / or noisy environments
• Bending lifting stretching reaching standing and walking for up to 8 hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders stairs and gangways safely and without limitation
• Tolerance for working in non-climate controlled environment with temperature functions.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

The Logistics Specialist reviews Data Center inventory in-bound shipments and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in the assigned data center to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager you will create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory location movement age and returns.

You will work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Data Center Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately. You will also work with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements. Regular and ongoing communications with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.

In addition Logistics Specialists are required to understand all aspects of production adhere to strict safety standards maintain very high quality and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e forklift or cherry picker). Candidates will work in a warehouse or data center environment depending on the region.

All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization organization skills effective communication and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.

You will be required to work shift work that will include days / nights and may be required to work weekends / holidays. Traveling within the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid drivers license to travel within the regional work area as company transportation will not be provided.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $39200 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $83800 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and / or other benefits.
