The Roxy Hotel New York is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential to delivering the elevated food quality, consistency, and hospitality that define The Roxy’s signature guest experience across Roxy Bar, Roxy Café, The Django, In-Room Dining, and special events.
About the Role
As a Prep Cook, you will support the kitchen’s day-to-day operations by executing high-volume prep with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. You’ll work closely with our Chefs to ensure recipes, mise en place, and station setup meet brand standards and contribute to the smooth, efficient flow of service.
What You’ll Do
- Execute daily food preparation following established recipes, specs, and portion standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment aligned with DOH and company guidelines
- Label, date, and store products correctly to uphold quality and minimize waste
- Support line cooks and chefs during peak periods by replenishing items and assisting with basic production
- Follow proper knife skills, sanitation, and handling procedures
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory
- Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership regarding product levels, shortages, or quality concerns
- Uphold The Roxy’s hospitality-driven culture, working collaboratively and professionally with the culinary and service teams
